HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL,
As we enter 2007, we’re standing on the threshold of great promise for Chapter One and the C.O.B.B. Society. Not all change is progress, but in any endeavor, progress cannot be realized without change, Change sometimes involves a trial and error learning experience and so long as it’s: “One step back and two forward,” progress is attained. At the officers meeting on 12/6, all present vowed renewed dedication to bringing unity and fun to our agenda. Committee assignments are nearing completion. As our committees continue to function and grow, so does the strength and progress of our Chapter. Members for the Ways and Means Committee have yet to be finalized. Let us know if you’re desirous of consideration for this or any other important facet of our Chapter. Feel free to present your ideas and suggestions. Please do so in writing as they are less likely to get misplaced.
Rest assured the Chapters recent growing pains have been positive learning experiences, producing changes in Chapter One and the Society as a whole. I am encouraged with the renewed enthusiasm, camaraderie and fun evidenced at recent activities.
Dues notices are being mailed from the Home Society as your anonymously paid first year dues expire. Your continued membership in Chapter One and the C.O.B.B. Society is sincerely appreciated. Please note the following membership changes. All new members must be sponsored by a regular member and acknowledge they have read: “MC Club Basics.” These articles are posted on our website: www.cflcobb1.com and the home society web site: www.cobbsociety.com. Attach a photocopy of their driver license or ID card and dues remittance.
We will be updating the Chapters web site in the immediate near future to keep you up to date on the Chapter news and events. Our sincere apologies for recent failure to communicate in a timely manner. There are many deserving KUDOS for efforts the past few months. Hopefully they’ll be recognized soon.
There are some great activities on the January calendar. Do your best participate when possible. Show up with your best smile and take two back home with you!!! The committee for our February 24th, “Second Annual Pre-Daytona Bash” is geared toward a “Second to None Event.” We need everyone’s help promoting it. There will be an 80 mile ride to start and an overnight adventure at East Lake Fish Camp. You can set up your RV, pitch your tent or rent a cabin so your aren’t at risk attempting to drive home after a full day and evening of activities. Call (407) 348-2040 early for reservations to avoid disappointment. Mark your calendar and plan on being there for this history making event.
The DAV, our meeting place, is in need of funds for a new roof. You can help by dropping by for one of their delicious sandwiches and libation. If your budget allows, give them a donation while there.
Be sure to notify us of any change of address or email address. Use the Hotline, email or snail mail to any of the addresses on page one of this letter. If you need a shirt, patch or COBB merchandise, contact Bastard Jasen at (407) 398-4878
Prior to Chapter One, C.O.B.B. was little more than an internet Society and merchandise outlet. The demand for Chapters has gotten to the point that it can no longer be denied. Since Chapter One has been the leader in this regard, our example will set the standard for the rest of the world. The home society is in agreement that an administration needs to be instituted and I have agreed to take on the role or position of administrator and director of the C.O.B.B. Society. I will continue to carry out my duties as your president, although I may be called away from time to time. This will be an excellent training period for our first and second vice president and I have every confidence in them.
We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season and wish all a happy and prosperous 2007. Keep the rubber side down and ride till you rot!
Yours in the brother and sisterhood of C.O.B.B.,
Newt Neuciler, President, Head Bastard, King Korn, etc:.
