FEBRUARY 2007 NEWSLETTER

Greetings Bastards and Bitches,

I couldn’t help but wonder how many of us made new year resolutions and haven’t started on them yet for one reason or another. Will they fall by the wayside till another time? You may have heard about the Chapter resolutions to refurbish the web site and a few other things. The committee is enthusiastic about making this a reality and the results will manifest in the very near future.
Time seems to fly by so fast I almost hate to go to sleep for fear I’ll miss something! Here we are about to experience our Second Annual Pre-Daytona Bash. Chairman Frank and his crew have been busy dotting their I’s and crossing their t’s to insure a successful and good time for all. Every indicator points to a huge turnout and we are counting on each and every one humanly possible to attend. Chapter One functions are second to none and we want you to share in this historical event. This is a dual event. 1. The 80 mile escorted ride and. 2. The fun, games and entertainment to follow st East Lake Fish Camp. We’ve got some of the finest bastards and bitches anywhere. COBB is different from the rest and our “cobbraderie” will propel this society to heights beyond our wildest dreams. Get to know your chapter brothers and sisters and you’ll understand why. Bring your tent or RV and camp out with us the night of February 24th. Smiles are guaranteed! ! ! See our web site or calendar for specifics.

We were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our dear friend and support member Scott Carpenter. His folks will be visiting the area in the near future. While they are here, if possible, in Scott’s honor we may have a brief ride to the lake and ceremoniously celebrate his life in scattering his ashes. This will be announced on the web site and hotline.

A few dates not far away we should be aware of. Time flies by and they will be upon us before we know it. Rolling Thunder and Our 2nd Annual are important chapter functions. DAYTONA BIKE WEEK – March 3rd thru 11. Leesburg – April 27-29. Thunder in the Smokies 4/27=29; Thunder on the beach, Panama City, FL 5/3-5/6; Myrtle Beach 5/11-5/20; ROLLING THUNDER, Washington DC 5/26-5/27(Perhaps this year. Plan on this awesome event); Laconia 6/9-6/17; Sturgis – 8/6-8/22; CHAPTER ONE SECOND ANNUAL 9/28-9/30 (Bigger & Better than the first? ? ?); Biketoberfest 10/18-10/22; Roscoe's Chili Challenge 11/2=11/4.

A repeat from last month: Dues notices are being mailed from the Home Society as your anonymously paid first year dues expire. Your continued membership is appreciated. Please note the following membership changes. All new members must be sponsored by a regular member and acknowledge they have read: “MC Club Basics.” These articles are posted under Protocol on Chapter One’s site: www.cflcobb1.com and posted under C.O.B.B. Pages – MC&RC FAQ on the C.O.B.B Society web site: www.cobbsociety.com Attach a photo of their Drivers License or an official Identification to their application

As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice:
When you put the two words "The" and "IRS" together it spells  "THEIRS"

Be sure to notify us of any change of address or email address. Use the Hotline, email or snail mail to any of the addresses on page one of this letter. If you need a shirt, patch or COBB merchandise, contact Bastard Jasen at (407) 398-4878

Once the administration is in place, the C.O.B.B. Society headquarters & office (except for merchandise) will be moving to Kissimmee. We’re in need of a voluntary carpenter, electrician, drywall person and painter to increase the size of the office. This shouldn’t take much time if properly planned. Call (407) 301-6081 or Email: newt1234@cfl.rr.com if you are able to assist in this endeavor. Thanks.

Happy Birthday to everyone having a birthday during the month of February !

Yours in the brother and sisterhood of C.O.B.B.,
